Presented "fAIr - Community AI Assisted Mapping Roadmap" at FOSS4G Europe 2025 in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina alongside Petya Kangalova and Kshitij Raj Sharma. FOSS4G (Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial) is the premier global conference for open-source geospatial technology.
The talk outlined fAIr's community-driven roadmap — covering planned improvements to model training pipelines, expanded support for different feature types (roads, water, agriculture), better integration with OSM validation tools, and the long-term vision for a globally accessible, locally trainable AI mapping service that keeps communities in control of their own geographic data.
Note: I was part of the speakers group for this talk but did not attend the conference in person — the presentation was delivered on-site in Mostar by co-presenters Petya Kangalova and Kshitij Raj Sharma.
